The Simpsons - "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire" a.k.a. "The Simpsons Christmas Special" is the first episode of season 1 and number 1 overall in the series. In fact it is the first full-length episode of the Simpsons to air despite originally being the eighth episode produced for season one.
The special was the subject of the series' first home video release, The Simpsons Christmas Special, released on VHS in 1991
In this episode Homer gets in serious Christmas problems, as he discovers that he will not get any Christmas bonus from work, so he will not be able to buy any presents for the family (as long as Marge spent the family's Christmas savings to remove a tattoo from Bart).
He decide to keep this problem away from the family (especially Marge) and gets a second job as a Santa in a mall but sadly he discovers that the job doesn't pay enough. In this situation, he takes Bart to racing track on Christmas Eve, hoping that he will make some money there.
